Are there any possible side-effects?
Just like any procedure, there are potential side effects, but not everyone will experience them. Some side effects include pain, swelling or bruising at the injection site and occasionally a mild headache. However most symptoms normally resolve in a couple of days.
What will happen at my appointment?
You will have an initial consultation with an aesthetic practitioner to discuss your requirements and desired look. Botox, if chosen, is a ‘prescription only medicine’ and therefore needs to be prescribed by a medical professional. If Botox is deemed appropriate, you will return to the clinic for your procedure. The procedure will take approximately 30 minutes.
How long until I notice results?
As a patient treated with muscle relaxing injections (Botox) most individuals start to see positive changes within a few days of their initial treatment. As the substance to take effect, visible results develop further continuing over the next couple of weeks.
When should I start using this treatment?
There is no specific age to begin this treatment. Condition of the skin is influenced by genetics and lifestyle choices and everyone ages differently. Botox is one choice for hitting lines where muscles contract. However, fillers are best for deep lines that are present even when facial muscles are not contracting.
